I was very honoured to attend the world premiere of Avatar last night. And WOW! It’s incredible – one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen!
After seeing the trailers and reading all the hype I wasn’t really expecting much, but after about 30minutes I was totally immersed. Vivid colours, perfect details and breathtaking landscapes – this film changes everything.

Last night I went to the UK premiere of the new Baz Luhrmann film Australia at the Odeon in Leicester Square. Not usually my type of movie – and one you definitely can’t analyse too deeply – but I enjoyed it. It’s a very easy film to criticise and there are certainly flaws, but it’s a Hollywood epic so you can’t expect too much. It’s fun for all the family, and certainly better than most of the reviews would have you believe.

And I got to have another look at the lovely Compton Organ before the film began.

On Thursday I went to the premiere of the new Danny Boyle movie “Slumdog Millionaire“.

It was held at the Odeon cinema, Leicester Square, and one of the highlights of going to events there is the little guy who rises out of the stage prior to the film to give you a tune or two on his trusty Compton Organ. You can find more info on the organ here, and the current organist at the Odeon has his own website here.

The film was pretty good too.
