Clark Magazine, Nov-Dec 2008

Monday, November 17th, 2008

There’s a nice article in the current issue of Clark Magazine (Nov-Dec 2008, P50-51) covering our recent group show in LA, “The Art of Music”. Couple of nice pix of our stuff in there too.

The cover of this issue is designed by Reas, who has a great blog here.

On Emotion

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

On Friday I went to see On Emotion, the new play by director Mick Gordon and neuropsychologist Paul Broks, at the Soho Theatre in London. Billed as a theatre essay, the production also features some nice puppetry by Blind Summit.

+ perhaps more importantly, the theatre bar has Cobra on tap.

Vincent Markowski – Dirty Capsules

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Here’s the final sleeve we’ve designed for the Vincent Markowski 12inch “Dirty Capsules”. It’s been through the wash a few times since the promo CD version. This will be released on DC Recordings sometime in December.

Make Me Psychic

Here’s a nice little animation from 1978 by Sally Cruikshank.

Versatile 2008 Party – Paris

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Last night saw me reluctantly take to the dance floor once again, this time in order to celebrate the launch of the new Versatile Records compilation “Versatile 2008″. Held at La Flèche d’Or in Paris – and hopefully we’ll be back there in January for a big DC Recordings party!

Arcadion – Ghost Feeder

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

I’ve just completed this 12inch sleeve for new DC Recordings signing Arcadion. The title track “Ghost Feeder” is a killer! It’s out on vinyl around December 1st I think?

Versatile Records Party

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I’ll be in Paris next week for this Versatile Records shindig! The party is to launch the new Versatile 2008 compilation (which we designed) and the entrance fee is only 5euro! Just seeing Joakim live is worth that alone.

Come and say hello.

Design Week – 30th October 2008

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

The good people at Design Week have once again featured some of my nonsense (30th October 2008 edition – P11). This time I’ve contributed a small Voxpop answering the following question: A new survey suggests that people are most creative at 10.04pm. When are you at your most creative and why?

No laughing at the mugshot please.

Odeon Cinema – Compton Organ

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

On Thursday I went to the premiere of the new Danny Boyle movie “Slumdog Millionaire“.

It was held at the Odeon cinema, Leicester Square, and one of the highlights of going to events there is the little guy who rises out of the stage prior to the film to give you a tune or two on his trusty Compton Organ. You can find more info on the organ here, and the current organist at the Odeon has his own website here.

The film was pretty good too.
