I finally managed to pop in to the Alan Aldridge exhibition at the Design Museum today. There are some very tasty pieces on show, including a few gems that were new to me. Very interesting to see the early work shown alongside new projects currently in development, and the opportunity to see some of the animation projects in detail.
The Adventure game is probably one of my all-time favourite TV shows (maybe 2nd after The Muppet Show?). I always longed to challenge the dreaded Vortex! Please release a DVD boxset soon BBC!!
We’ve designed this poster for the UK teatrical release of The Man From London. Directed by Béla Tarr and starring Tilda Swinton, the film opens at the London Renoir on the 12th December.
We’re very proud to be featured in the current issue of Computer Arts magazine (Issue 156 – Dec 08 – p34-43). I have contributed much nonsense to an article entitled “The Changing Face of Graphic Design” by Mark Penfold. Apparently La Boca are part of an illustrious bunch who are “shaking up the world of graphic design” (their words not mine!). We also have a nice portfolio section included on the accompanying CD-Rom.
The cover of this issue (top) is a rather nice design by Danish duo Hvass&Hannibal.
We are participating in the next “Art of Music” group show – this time in Sweden – from 28th November to 19th December 2008. The exhibition is moving to Europe following it’s successful debut in LA earlier this year. First up is Stockholm, with more cities to follow soon I think.
Passed by the launch party for the Barney Bubbles book last night. Had a lot of fun and great to see so many esteemed guests representing! Also got my grubby hands on a copy of the book – it’s wonderful.
Sorry I don’t have better pics – the wine was also wonderful.
Really great to see a book finally being published on one of my greatest inspirations, Barney Bubbles. I haven’t seen a final copy yet but how could it possibly go wrong? This is an essential book for any designer with even the slightest interest in sleeve design. Thanks to the Cox-Dorée Institure for the info.
